Geetanjali In Bengali Unicode

“Geetanjali” literally means Geet(Song) + Anjali(Offerings) = “Song Offerings” to the God.

I have started the conversion of Kaviguru’s Nobel prize winning serenade to God, Geetanjali, in Bengali unicode. To the great genius Rabindranath Tagore, my efforts will be just a piece of respect after expanding its reach in the era of Internet. The word ‘Geetanjali’ is in some places written as ‘Gitanjali’ and it is as per Bengali pronunciation,its Gitanjoli. And I guess the ‘Geetanjali’ word seems better.

The need of hour is, I could not locate his original poems in unicode format on the net, though partial translations are there. Though It will require a lot of expertise for doing the translation as per my current level of confidence, thus I shall put only the Roman transription alongwith.

আমার কথায় গান ভরে দাও

হে পরমা, আমার মা,
সুবোধ দাও, আমায় তুমি,
আলোকিত কর, আমার গান ।
কুলহারা এই দেসে,
অপুর্ন আমার বানী,
আজি কেন হার মেনেছি ।

বিবেকের ছায়াসংগী তুমি,
বীনাখানি বাজায় আমি,
ব্যাকুল কন্ঠ গান ভর ।
জেনে সবার মনের কথা আমি ,
কে আপন, কে পর ভুলে,
আজি সেই কথার সমীরে,
আমি মাধুরী ভোরে দিতে চাই ।

আমার কথায় গান ভরে দাও ।

Roman transcription:
He parama, Aamar ma,
subodh dao, aamay tumi,
aalokit karo, aamar gaan,
kulhara aie dese,
Apurna aamar bani,
Aaji haar menechi.

Vivekar chhayasangi tumi,
Vinakhani bajai aami,
Vyakul konthe gaan bhoro,
Jene sobar moner kotha aami,
Ke aapon, ke por bhule,
Aaji sei kothar somire,
Aami madhuri bhore dite chai.

Aamar kothai gaan bhore dao.

আমার প্রেম বুঝতে পারবে কী

আজি কী ভাবে বলি তোমায়,
আমার প্রেম বুঝতে পারবে কী ।

তোমার মনের, সেঈ কতো স্বপন,
তুমি বেটে নিতে পারবে কী ।

তোমার স্বপন, আজি আমার স্বপন,
আমার ফাঁকা ঘরে, হাঁসি ভরবে কী ।

সেঈ মায়েব ছেলে আমি, বলি আজি,
অভিমান ফেলে, হাত ধরে আসবে কী ।

আমার ধর্ম আমি করি, অবচেতনে,
তোমার ধর্ম বুঝে, ফিরে আসবে কী ।

আর চাই না, পেমের পরীক্রা আমি করি,
এক দিন তুমি আমায়, নিজে ডাকবে কি ।

তোমার মনে, অপরের ভালোবাসা,
তুমি একটু খোনি আমায়, দিতে পারবে কী ।

Roman Transcription:

Ami ki bhabe boli tomae,
Aamar prem bujhte parbe ki.

Tomar moner, sei koto swapno,
Tumi bete nite parbe ki.

Tomar swapno, aaji aamar swapno,
aamar faka(empty) ghore, hanshi bhorbe ki.

Sei maer chele ami, boli aaji,
Abhiman fele, haath dhore aasbe ki.

Aamar dhorma ami kori, avachetane,
Tomar dhormo bujhe, phire aasbe ki.

Aar chai na, premer pariksha ami kori,
Ek din tumi aamay, nije dakbe ki.

Tomar mone, oporer (stranger) bhalobasa,
Tumi ektu khani aamay, dite parbe ki.

নব প্রদীপ

অতীত জীবন ছায়া হারা,
ডাকো আমাকে, বিজন ছায়ায়,
এসো কাছে, সেই পাখির বাসায় ।

দিয়ো তোমার, দুঃখসূখের গান।
আড়াল করো, আঁচল দিয়ে,
তোমার – আমার, নব প্রদীপ, মন প্রান ।

Roman transcription:
(Atit Jiwon chhaya hara,
Dako aamake, bijon (peaceful) chhayay,
Eso kachhe, sei pakhir basay.

Diyo amay, dukhosukher gan,
Aaral karo ( protect / take care), aanchal diye,
Tomar – amar , nav pradeep , mano pran.)

আমার তুমি

আজি প্রেমের মাঝখানি,
আমার গানে তুমি, তাহার প্রানে তুমি ।
আজি লুকানে তুমি, দেখানো তুমি ।

আজি আকাসে তুমি, বাতাসে তুমি,
সেই আশারে আষাঢ়ে তুমি, স্রাবনে তুমি,
দেখি -এখানে তুমি, সেখানে তুমি ,
আজি হাঁসি তুমি,নয়নজলে তুমি,
আজি জাগরনে তুমি, সয়নে তুমি,
আমার বিরাম তুমি,আমার গতি তুমি ।

তোমার মাঝে হারা পথিক,
আমি কোথায আজি,
হে আমার প্রিয়, জানি না আমি ।
