Look and Feel

The new header image is the cropped 1/3 part of my recent abstract paintings – “Stairs”. I will try to put more photographs and paintings there, to change the look and feel of the blog occasionally and share them with art lovers.

P.S.: The above described painting now appears as the condensed size in the next post , “Stairs“.

Ajax for Web 2.0 !

Another turning point in web standards being followed by the leaders.

Further development in HTML standards is ceased and currently CSS and XHTML make an ideal couple to look sites great. Though actual standards are to be defined, AJAX brought the next milestone for content presentation. I think, these may be the efforts to get the web 2.0 being defined.

Look & Feel Changed

One of my blog sister complained about look and feel of my blog. Her complaint was that, the fonts of my blog were too small to read easily. I too have felt the same earlier. So I have increased the size of post fonts to 14 pixels, may be more comfortable to read for majority.Though changing the template was the most easy way to do so, when default fonts are predefined in them. But this template has to be maintained as it suited my posts. Though changing font-color, style and size in this template require extra efforts of using CSS( Cascading Style Sheets) in spans,I shall be doing that. I shall increase the size of fonts of other last posts too after some time.

Who are You ?

“Who Am I ?” was my first post on my blog journey dated November 23rd, 2004. Yesterday this blog completed two years.

The internet based technology is my bread and butter. Its my lone technical love ( addiction) too. It rewarded me honestly, and I too kept the blog associated with my principles of identity. Flowers

During the journey, I learnt many things from my fellow bloggers with best possible transparency. I got connected to a good circle around, some became indispensable. My posts sometimes got praised well, was tolerated many a times and few were criticized with dignity. I am proud of my global associations here, specially the network of Hindi bloggers and consistent readers.

Some other things I learnt were the typing in Hindi. But adding to sorrow, I saw disappearance of some blogs and final disappearance of a blogger too.

I learnt to come out of a shell. Since my words are expressed on public place instead of my personal diary, they are half worth unless those can reach the heart and brains of audience. The best thing I learnt here is rationality in thought. Though emotional outcomes could not be checked, its impossible almost.

FlowersOn this occasion of celebration, I do hope to add new category of humour as per my Ma’s guidance. She thinks (me too) that, now a days with a loads of work and due to lack of understanding of feelings people are already stressed. They need something to smile back. On this Sunday, I am going to buy ingredients for preparing the (0 – 100%) guaranteed humour tonic. 🙂

Obviously, the journey started with self centric posts, later moved towards people around me. Hence as a mark of respect to all around me, this special post is dedicated to my readers.

Thank you, very much, my inspirations. Something kept me intact for two years, I do wonder, who are you ?

Get a Free Favicon !!

Before you read this post you can see a favicon in the location bar of this blog. You are seeing an image of a colourful heart. It took me 1 hour to create it. Thanks the company who provided the software free of cost. The favicon gives distinct look to the web address in the location bar as well as appears in the tabs of the browsers to give the website’s look more professional. Every art, poem and story tells more than just colours and words. To me the reason of choosing a heart as favicon is it’s associatively with love and as a synonym of my name too. Any one’s heart always wants to be in pleasure. So I have tried to put all the seven colours in it to symbolise the pleasures. Although in such a small dimension some colours are used in less quantity. Giving it a three dimensional look was again a challenge. My aim towards my arts, poems, writings and even music is to communicate to my audience and visitors.

You too can create yourself such a favicon. Or you can get made it professionally from the favicon experts. Try it or one more alternative is here. Describe your chosen theme ( Please avoid natural scenarios as a theme :-D) of the desired favicon in the comment or my yahoo-id. I will do my best to make one and give you the relevant HTML code (favicon location embedded in it). Then you have to only add the HTML code in your blog template, so that the created favicon will appear in your blog for ever (Of course you can test it before posting on the site). Yes for my readers it’s free service. Do hurry ! Limited Editions from Prem’s art gallery :-).

(Un)Developed Browser Technologies

Are you using a good browser, if yes what is it’s name?
I am asking this because:
The technology is evolving leaps and bounds. The machine and software improves overnight. One technology is complementing as well as supplementing the others.
The software versions are improving. Improvements are in the sense of more facilities and less bugs.
For example Internet explorer (IE) and Netscape Navigator (NN) and few others popular web browsers are still trying to upgrade their versions to make them more user friendly. No doubt NN is more powerful browser and on the other hand IE is the more popular and Mozilla is sidelined despite goodness. Today some developer is using a technology the overnight it’s adopted by the others. If one supports frame other tries to trap it. The need of JavaScript support was a reason of frequent updating of the respective browsers. Again CSS (Cascading Style Sheets) appeared to make the presentation of the material stylish. But it is still bad enough for Microsoft‘s soft guys (of course girls too) to parse the CSS code successfully for their IE’s latest version. One can easily tell that the appearance of the same web page changes as the browser changes. If we start thinking from the view of the developers of these browsers, there is various needs of so many compatibilities like JavaScript, CSS, JVM, graphics, screen types, Operating System and Resolutions of different monitors, etc. Each one changing frequently and more additions of add-ins come and the browser has to be compatible with each thing successfully. And once it is developed it must be available in freely J downloadable form. The situation becomes hard for so called soft personals developing it. Foxfire (a Mozilla based browser) supporters wait till the version number increases from 1.0 to some bigger floating point number. After all crossing hurdles at first attempt is not expected by any browser (even the cleverest Fox). Beware of a Thunderbird (e-mail application) which is flying above it. It may attack your “Outlook”ing e-mail application birds to vanish. But there is no harm to experiment it in parallel.
Last days I felt the need of the general consciousness about the browsers when Unicode characters failed to display properly and CSS was working weirdly in the IE and same was correct in NN.
So to make a general consensus about the browsers what we (bloggers) are using please let me know what type of browser you are using. Please invest one more minute ( Already your few minutes got wasted reading this blog) of your precious time for telling me This survey is being done on the “global readers” of mine and all of them can be counted on fingers :-). Okay we may shift to other browser from one which we are using but why can’t we improve our visibility after using better browser based on the comparison. Your piece of information will be useful for all of us in future too.
